In high school, with a lot of spare time, I spent a year sweating away at the gym and got down to my all time low of 150 pounds. However, university (and the boozing and eating that went with it) helped me gradually put all that weight back on. By the time I finished uni 6 years later, I was a massive 213 pounds.
After university, my job prospects were pretty dim, so I packed my bags and moved across the ocean to England. In preparation for the big move I dropped about 10 pounds. With no car (or much money) I spent most of my time walking around which helped me drop a few more pounds. Then I met Wayne. There is nothing like true love to help pack on the pounds. Less than a year later the scales tipped at 216 pounds. On a routine trip to the doctor, the nurse informed me that I was obese and needed to lose at least a stone (14 pounds to the non-British) before my next visit. Feeling like crap, I went to a Weight Watchers meeting the next day.
I lost 3 stone on Weight Watchers (42 pounds) and have managed to keep most of it off for over 3 years. However, I am still not at a healthy weight and have decided 2012 (the year I turn 30!) is the year to achieve this!
The purpose of this blog is to document my steps to reaching this goal (and add accountability). Here's to Jennie version 2012!
